Artist Statement |
As a military wife my choices have put me in a unique position where change is the normal way of life and that version of normal has affected our version of home. “Home” as a military family is an ever changing concept for me and my family, something I knew would be the case when I married my husband. However, what I failed to realize was how many questions and comments I would receive about the struggles of my lifestyle choice. Even other military wives have occasionally commented on my ability to remain positive. These perspectives led me to create the series “Homefront”. A series of images that document my family’s life bringing the viewer along on our journey. My goal is to show that, while difficult, my families lifestyle can work, mess and all.
